Airport Losinj (LDLO)
by ch • 2025-08-27 16:01:32 UTC
A good GA destination. Helpful, dedicated ground crew. On Friday, surprisingly, no one at the tower; that works too. The shuttle is good, and the new building as well. But they’re obviously testing how far they can push it. 50 EUR LDG and 20 EUR parking are borderline. But we do keep going 😉
International Airport Sarajevo (LQSA)
by ch • 2025-08-27 16:01:32 UTC
Sarajevo now has a bit more space on the apron for GA. Aircraft are no longer squeezed between snow-removal vehicles and scrap ;-) but are parked properly.
Approach is quite steep due to the basin topography. Departure with tailwind because they didn’t want to reverse the runway direction for CAT — 2 of the runway length not an issue.
€72 for LDG, PKG 2 nights, MTOW 1400 and 2 crew. For departure, contact Info. About 30 min incl. billing and shuttle to the apron.
Taxi about €20 to the city.
No Avgas.
Civil Airfield Medulin (LDPM)
by ch • 2025-08-27 16:01:32 UTC
Medulin is no longer an ICAO airfield — LDPM is no longer valid. In the flight plan, file ZZZZ and the coordinates (SD does it automatically).
Pula Tower provides coordination all the way to the field and, from “ready for departure,” also while on the ground.
In busier traffic, you can also call Medulin on 123.5, including blind calls on approach. In December that’s generally not necessary.
RWY 12 is slightly uphill.
Officially the RWY is grass (fairly level) and the asphalt path is the taxiway. But departures are made on it and, off-season, landings too.
To Pula or Medulin it’s just under 4 km each — with the kwiggle no problem.
Medulin is a nice town with a promenade, beach, and good restaurants.
LDG 15€, PKG 25€/night. No Avgas — Portoroz at 2.37€/L is currently unbeatable.
For me, a pleasant and welcoming alternative to Pula.
International Airport Tivat (LYTV)
by ch • 2025-08-27 16:01:32 UTC
Required PPR for parking arrived a few hours after the email request. No other formalities in advance.
Approach from the east (RISAN) was spectacular through the Bay of Kotor. A straight-in with a light tailwind to Rwy 14 was offered—perfect given the very long uphill runway. On the ground, friendly and efficient.
Taxis still a rip-off; even the approved fare of 10€ was adjusted by drivers via sticker to 10–20€ for 3 km.
New departure rules since May: GA carry-on must be “checked in” and is delivered to the aircraft. Also trolleys and kwiggles—trolley damaged in the process.
Payment at the aircraft by credit card or cash. LDG, PKG 2 nights, handling for 1400MTOW & 2 persons: 117€. No Avgas.
Civil Airfield Vrsar Crljenka (LDPV)
by ch • 2025-08-27 16:01:32 UTC
Direct flight from Germany without formalities is possible.
Approach still spectacular, now passing close to a new upscale vacation home.
Runway and apron somewhat less covered with gravel. Parking at the edge of the asphalt with tie-downs available.
LDG €25, parking €15/night.
Avgas not available.
Radio not impressive; good intent is there, but… well, needs improvement.
The manager is very helpful.
Airport Portoroz/Secovlje (LJPZ)
by ch • 2025-08-27 16:01:32 UTC
Enthusiasm for Portoroz as a destination drops off markedly given the parking costs.
Nice pit stop (though Pepe Nero is currently closed due to a change of leaseholder) with inexpensive Avgas.
But both the mandatory grass parking (after a fresh cut with morning dew, everything gets very green) with an empty apron (for RG!) and the €40/night are not really conducive to long weekends. LDG, PKG 1 night, with AOPA discount, pilot only: €73 (no taxi, had a bike with me).
Even the Jet A1/schnapps doesn’t make up for it.
Civil Airfield Divaca (LJDI)
by ch • 2025-08-27 16:01:32 UTC
Gave it a try today as well. Long, narrow runway with a slight downhill on RWY 31. Very friendly people at the field, but otherwise there’s nothing nearby except the aforementioned cave. No landing fee.
Airport Pula (LDPL)
by ch • 2025-08-27 16:01:32 UTC
Received PPR after a brief email inquiry, uneventful arrival. Chocks, tie-downs, transport to/from the terminal, through security during the Pentecost rush, fueling (2.70/L), all excellent. LDG, PKG, handling 55€ for 1400 MTOW. OK.
They want to convert a military area into GA parking but apparently face resistance. A pity; Pula is worth a trip / a stop.
Shuttle bus to the bus station 6€/person, taxi a steep 40€ for 7 km. Return 20€ ;-)
Civil Airfield Hilversum (EHHV)
by ch • 2025-08-27 15:55:15 UTC
Hilversum again friendly, welcoming, and straightforward. Strong wind from 220; on the well‑maintained 25 no problem (a bit bumpy over the trees on short final). After rollout, just taxi back alongside the runway via the grass toward the Tower and take the assigned parking row.
Tower provides guidance, but personal responsibility is emphasized, and with attention and forethought everything works even with multiple aircraft active in the circuit.
Uber this time €60 each way to the southern city center (de Pijp).
€57 for landing and 2 nights is just about OK; Avgas at €3.50 is a bit pricey (plan an intermediate stop at EDLB).
Departure accordingly: observe, make clear calls, execute—works fine.
Dutch Mil again very helpful—proactively advising which areas are inactive.
Airport Hof Plauen (EDQM)
by ch • 2025-08-27 15:54:28 UTC
Nice team in the tower and on the ground.
Runway in excellent condition. Entry/exit is straightforward.
Payment via aerops as well, including Avgas.
Ldg MTOW1400 €22.61, Avgas €2.50/L.
The field is somewhat remote but in a beautiful setting. Hof is easy to reach by bike (or a short taxi ride).
Civil Airfield Aschaffenburg (EDFC)
by ch • 2025-08-27 15:54:28 UTC
Very friendly welcome in the air and on the ground—you feel welcome.
Avgas 100LL and UL91, Mogas and JetA1 all available (unfortunately UL91 is pricier than 100LL—half a star off ;-) ). Service station with washing supplies and air for tire pressure.
Italian restaurant on the field with a good menu and moderate prices.
In Grossostheim, within walking distance, two small hotels. App2drive with several vehicles on the field.
Maintenance shop is flexible and helps with small things, too.
12.50 €/LDG and 10 €/night for 1400 MTOW are good as well.
Civil Airfield Grossenhain (EDAK)
by ch • 2025-08-27 15:54:28 UTC
Slightly rough runway, but fully usable and very long. Best to call ahead by mobile phone; otherwise the operator may be briefly away—otherwise straightforward and helpful.
Interesting exhibits and bunkers; history alive at the +/- oldest German airfield still in operation.
Instead of a taxi (sometimes hard to get in Grossenhain), better to order a rental car by phone at the field for 42 €/day. Or bring a bicycle.
Meissen and the Elbe are beautiful, the area around the field less so.
Avgas available but not needed.
Closure has been announced for years in favor of an industrial park, but hopefully not for a long time yet!
Civil Airfield Weimar Umpferstedt (EDOU)
by ch • 2025-08-27 15:54:28 UTC
Weimar is worth a trip; Umpferstedt is a good stop for it. 17.50€ for landing and overnight for 1400 MTOW. Narrow but adequate asphalt strip in the middle of the grass runway. The runway is slightly downhill; RWY 28 is advantageous for landing and RWY 10 for takeoff (wind permitting). Already on approach we were offered to arrange a cab (we had kwiggles with us). Unfortunately only Mogas, no Avgas, but Hof was en route (2.50€/L). Otherwise highly recommended.
Civil Airfield Boehlen (EDOE)
by ch • 2025-08-27 15:54:28 UTC
Grass runway, hard as concrete, well maintained.
Interesting traffic pattern over Zwenkauer See.
Friendly staff, calm tone on the radio.
Limited other infrastructure. Did not inquire about hangar.
With a Kwiggle, quick to bus and train. Taxi expensive, UBER unavailable. Getting picked up by car is easy.
LDG €12, PKG €5/night for MTOW 1400.
Civil Airfield Halle Oppin (EDAQ)
by ch • 2025-08-27 15:54:28 UTC
Friendly on the radio, friendly at the C office.
Well-maintained airfield with lots of parking.
Fueling at Total rates.
Schnitzel-Tower: if desired, best to reserve, as it is very popular in the region.
Parking with tie-down rings in the ground.
For MTOW 1400: €31 for landing plus 2 nights parking.
Ground access mediocre. 4 km to Niemberg, then 10 min by DB to Halle. Or 13 km by taxi. No UBER available. Doable by bike or scooter, though.
International Airport Dresden (EDDC)
by ch • 2025-08-27 15:54:28 UTC
Around the airport, very friendly and helpful people.
Do not leave your license in the aircraft; it is required at the pre-departure check.
S-Bahn to the city €3, every 30 minutes during the day (evenings once per hour).
Despite traffic mostly in the , there is trouble; the controller (feels) obliged to file an official report.
Civil Airfield Ruegen (EDCG)
by ch • 2025-08-27 15:54:28 UTC
Arrival and departure straightforward, relaxed radio comms. Well-kept grass parking; concrete available on request (400 m walk to the exit). Avgas 2.99/L.
Landing €14, parking €8/night (1400 MTOW).
Rental cars on site and billed together.
On-field restaurant unfortunately closed.
Civil Airfield Medlanky (LKCM)
by ch • 2025-08-27 15:53:03 UTC
Medlanky has a lot of gliding, and due to LDG on 34 and TO on 16 you should call early and report positions continuously.
Namest military airfield usually allows transit (at least Sat/Sun).
Because of the Turany CTR it’s basically a tight turn from downwind to the threshold. Since the runway is apparently poorer in the first third, that just about works. There’s no stabilized final—more of a turn-to-land. After rollout it’s noticeably uphill to parking and exit. Runway and taxiway condition overall OK.
Takeoff looks intimidating with forest in the departure path, but the slope helps a lot and you have to promptly initiate a pronounced right turn after T/O anyway.
Footpath or bike to the tram into Brno. Restaurant on the field.
Friendly club and day-trip atmosphere at the field.
Civil Airfield Strakonice (LKST)
by ch • 2025-08-27 15:53:03 UTC
Quiet, friendly grass strip. Radio not always available / not always intelligible. Air2air works as well.
Occasional parachute jumpers.
Runway 13/31 is reinforced in the middle; apparently only that section is still used.
Vacate midfield toward the club, or at the end of 31 along the second apron.
Landing fee CZK 100 for Echo, CZK 50 for UL (or EUR 5 / 2.50). AVGAS €2.80/L.
Nice restaurant in the club building.
The town is nearby but rather boring...
About halfway there, a small lake.
Civil Airfield Stockerau (LOAU)
by ch • 2025-08-27 15:52:04 UTC
Still in 2024, a good gateway to Vienna, also for the Donauinselfest.
Nice team. Good runway, secure parking.
Landing fee for 1400 MTOW: €23. Parking per night 50% of the landing fee.
Avgas for AT somewhat high at €3/L.
Everything else as previously described.
Civil Airfield Krems Langenlois (LOAG)
by ch • 2025-08-27 15:52:04 UTC
Busy on weekends, parachute ops with PC6. Still handled calmly and safely.
Parking in tall grass opposite the tower.
Landing and parking (1 night) €34 for MTOW 1400. Pay by credit card downstairs at the entrance to Building C.
Avgas 2.60/L with a credit card machine. app2drive is handy, since Krems is a bit farther and many destinations require a car (Duernstein, Spitz, Aggstein, etc).
Gourmet tip: Nikolaihof. The restaurant on the field is also very good.
Very helpful fellow pilots from the club! Thanks again!
International Airport Klagenfurt (LOWK)
by ch • 2025-08-27 15:51:12 UTC
Relaxed Approach and Tower.
Large apron with few aircraft, but they insist on a yellow hi-vis vest.
Exit via Gate 1 (on request also exit/entry via the GAC at the other end of the buildings).
Bring your license and ideally also a photo ID...
S-Bahn to the city center; bike works too (if you bring one); the whole city is currently full of scooters, including at the airport.
50€ for LDG and one night on the apron is still OK - however, austrocontrol takes 30€ (!) of that for the approach; only 20€ go to the airport...
The ground staff are also very nice and friendly.
Civil Airfield Vöslau (LOAV)
by ch • 2025-08-27 15:51:12 UTC
Still a very friendly team. Facilities in good shape; tie-down rings available. With N/NW wind, RWY 31 is clearly better than LOAU.
By bike about 10 min to the railway station (2.7 km), then in the REX about 45 min to Vienna city center.
RNP approach not really difficult, a bit of radio work, but straightforward. Plan on a procedure turn at the holding fix; ATC may also clear you for the approach from the opposite direction—don’t be surprised.
A SID clearance on the ground from Wien RDR would have taken at least 15 min, so departed VFR and picked up enroute.
Landing and 44 h parking (Fri–Sun) each EUR 36.50 for 1400 MTOW.
Overall good, but not perfect.
Fuel available, not needed.
Civil Airfield Zell Am See (LOWZ)
by ch • 2025-08-27 15:51:12 UTC
Given the recent PIREPs (and not having been there for a while), I had certain expectations, but experienced it differently. Made brief position reports, received QNH and active runway; landing (and departure) at own discretion.
Parking inquiry answered succinctly (there was a lot of traffic).
24€ for 1400 MTOW is fine; eat & fly serves great food and the kitchen is open without a break.
Avgas €2.59/L also fine.
Works well for me—I’m not scraping my wingtips on rock either (per the chart, not all areas are flown around perfectly), but they do make an effort for their neighbors ;-)
Airport Ajaccio Napoleon Bonaparte (LFKJ)
by ch • 2025-08-27 15:48:32 UTC
Just under 48 hours before planned arrival, notified customs and Ajaccio OPS by email. Then 24 hours beforehand contacted Casavia, as there was no reply from OPS and myhandling mobile doesn’t work at all (and touchngo no longer functions).
Casavia (Richard) was there for arrival and departure (notified by phone shortly beforehand). Exit/entry directly at the gate to the rental cars (very convenient at RentaCar).
Departure also without customs—they apparently show up only rarely, as they are not on the field.
Invoice €105 for 1400 MTOW, 4 days parking, incl. handling, which was worth the money.
Avgas with BP Card for €2.24/L self-service.
ATC were friendly and helpful on both arrival and departure.
Civil Airfield Saint Pierre D Oleron (LFDP)
by ch • 2025-08-27 15:48:32 UTC
On arrival, checked out with Nates and made blind position reports. Runway is in relatively good condition.
Parking is on grass, equipped with chains for tie-down. There is usually someone at the club—the airfield manager also has reasonably priced wines. Sign the book in the clubhouse and drop a donation in the tin box. No landing or parking fee is charged.
Avgas available, but I didn’t need any.
Arrange a taxi in advance or arrange loaner bicycles with the club. On arrival Monday, none of the four taxi companies (numbers posted at the field) could be reached...
The island is easy to explore by bike.
Departure also straightforward; coordinate with Nantes regarding the possibility to transit the restricted areas, otherwise
Civil Airfield Dijon Darois (LFGI)
by ch • 2025-08-27 15:48:32 UTC
A/A radio. Be advised: if you transmit in English, the locals may not take you fully seriously and might cut in onto the runway despite your base/final calls.
Standard practice there is something like an overhead arrival, UK style.
Taxis are hard to get, but Uber works well, 25–30 euros to Dijon. Impressive refurbishment operation and, of course, Robin/CEAPR on site.
Two Avgas options: Total (with Total Card) or, cheaper, Avia (credit card).
The flying club is very friendly.
Overall a recommended stop, with no landing or parking fees.
Airport Dinard Pleurtuit St Malo (LFRD)
by ch • 2025-08-27 15:48:32 UTC
Friendly, helpful tower; asks for EN or FR on approach. Apologized for a 4 min delay due to a medevac approach (!). Offered grass (close to the exit) or asphalt (due to landing gear).
Arriving from Schengen: just fly in, exit at the fire station hut (restroom in the terminal, no checks) -> note/photograph the code at the exit.
Use the code to enter for departure, pay at the fire station hut, and go.
Landing (MTOW 1400) with 3 nights: €48. Avgas 2.69/L with BP card.
Taxi: risk of being ripped off by local taxis, if one even shows up… Outbound to St Malo €60. Return booked via https://www.taxi-st-malo.com/: €31… (Uber essentially not active—tried at length both ways).
Dinard, as a somewhat decadent seaside resort, is also worth a trip.
Transit through Landisiau (military airfield) on Sunday was no problem; probably mostly fine on weekdays as well.
Civil Airfield Quiberon (LFEQ)
by ch • 2025-08-27 15:48:32 UTC
Little traffic; relaxed tower operator. Approach to runway 28 over the sea, very nice.
Parking in a row on asphalt.
1.5 km to the village/small town; no problem by bike (also walkable).
Total €2.73/L with TotalCard.
Departure without radio, since the flight information officer had no AFISO qualification.
MTOW 1400: LDG + 3x PKG = €43.
Civil Airfield Nuits Saint Georges (LFGZ)
by ch • 2025-08-27 15:48:32 UTC
Nuits Saint Georges is rarely staffed (even on weekends). Uncomplicated, relatively level runway with a slight upslope (20 ft over 800 m).
Chateau de Berchere has been under new management since 2022 (breakfast is very French; no restaurant). You have to explicitly ask for booking.com rates, despite avoiding the booking.com cut. Very impressive, but the highway is clearly audible.
Kyriad is about 2.5 km away and also has a restaurant.
Plenty of good restaurants in the village.
For fuel, coordinate with the club in advance, or use nearby airfields, e.g., Beaune with Totalcard (and no landing fee).
Donation appreciated, but landing/parking free of charge.
Airport Chalon Champforgeuil (LFLH)
by ch • 2025-08-27 15:48:32 UTC
Well-maintained airfield nicely located in Burgundy. Easygoing tower controller, short-mown grass parking plus a small asphalt apron. LDG is a normal €16; PKG a steep €40/24h, billed per hour (4h included with LDG).
Intense parachute jumping operations with a PC6, but takeoffs and landings around the canopies are relaxed.
Taxi to town €35 for about 8 km; Uber is half that, but rarely available.
Avgas by credit card at €2.77/L.
Gourmet tip: the town has a wide selection of excellent restaurants along a small lane on the Ile St Laurent in the Saone!
Airport Brest Bretagne (LFRB)
by ch • 2025-08-27 15:48:32 UTC
Friendly tower that apologized for holding due to an IFR approach. Long runway.
Register in advance with ACB Aero Club Brest Finistere and park there. Best to CC OPS (pce) directly; they must also approve—you will be asked about this prior to approach.
Entry/exit via ACB.
Landing fee up to 2 t €6.85, can be paid via aerops. Parking free at the club.
Uber to the city about €25–30.
Refueling with BP card €2.69/L.
Airport Bastia Poretta (LFKB)
by ch • 2025-08-27 15:48:32 UTC
Very efficient fuel stop.
Avgas (currently?) only with BP Card, on a dedicated apron.
Friendly and helpful tower team (offered to amend a tight flight plan and assist with a shorter route...)
Avgas at €2.46/L, quite reasonably priced.
Only drawback: no toilet on the fueling apron—use the flying club on the adjacent apron.
Civil Airfield Pavullo (LIDP)
by ch • 2025-08-27 15:47:10 UTC
Pavullo is a bit sporty on approach to 02, as you only see the runway late and come in with a 30° offset over downsloping terrain. Runway is perfectly maintained and upsloping at the end. Radio relaxed but precise; ENAC showpiece field ;-)
Great location in the middle of the valley; the way to Pavullo is manageable at 2 km.
Landing fee up to 2 t now €20, parking €25/night. If needed, BP Avgas available.
Before refueling, check W&B and takeoff performance. Runway is long enough, but on 02 and 20 there is rising terrain in each case!
Pavullo itself is a bit boring; in early October, half of the few restaurants in town were closed.
The on-field restaurant is good.
The field’s facilities are high standard.
You can occasionally watch the rescue helicopters training.
Good stop at a higher price level.
Civil Airfield Tortoli / Arbatax (LIET)
by ch • 2025-08-27 15:47:10 UTC
Newly reopened airfield in good condition. Approach and departure are spectacular, directly over the beach.
Use the PPR procedure on the website; replies come quickly. They are still in the process of obtaining approvals for small CAT. Buildings etc. are prepared. Currently occasional PC-12s...
Fire crew fully staffed for ARR and DEP.
Less than 2 km to Tortoli; Arbatax is within biking/taxi distance. Beautiful beaches and opportunities for excursions into the mountains.
Hotel/restaurant tip: IKNOS. Good, reasonably priced food; inexpensive stays in freshly renovated, nice rooms. Within walking distance from the airfield.
No Avgas. Landing €25 and parking €30/night (Lido Venezia league ;-) ).
Civil Airfield Marina Di Campo (LIRJ)
by ch • 2025-08-27 15:47:10 UTC
Airfield remains good and the team is friendly. Think carefully about how much tailwind you accept; the airport almost always recommends Runway 34, but that can mean you’ll need to brake with a tailwind. The approach to Runway 16 feels unusual but isn’t difficult.
Apron parking only for PA46 or twins, even retractables (hangar neighbor with the very old TwinCo was allowed on asphalt; the Trini had to go onto the grass). The grass parking area is stabilized with plastic honeycomb and, at the start of the season, is still firm and not very sanded/graveled.
Handling on arrival and departure is quick. On departure you get boarding passes and have to go through the "Terminal".
95€ for MTOW1400 including three nights of parking (40€!) is OK for a tourist destination; parking in particular is oddly expensive considering the large parking area.
Taxi was 15€, but ordered in the village 😉
Avgas is, as known, astronomically priced at 3.94/L - plan around it.
Civil Airfield Ancona / Falconara (LIPY)
by ch • 2025-08-27 15:47:10 UTC
Falconara is quite good for a CAT airport in IT. As described, email ops@ancona-airport.com: Minimum Handling and ETA/ETD. They reply quickly.
Parking on Apron A, opposite side of the RWY from the terminal. Marshaller and taxi are there; chocks on request.
All major car rental companies are in the arrivals terminal—be sure to pre-book online—otherwise about triple the price on site!
Ancona is 17 km away.
For departure, go to Security, register your private flight there; a staff member accompanies you to settle the bill, then a taxi to the aircraft from there.
Landing and 4 nights parking, MTOW 1400 and 2 crew = €90 (incl. handling).
Tower friendly and helpful on arrival and departure.
Avgas available, not needed.
Civil Airfield Ferrara (LIPF)
by ch • 2025-08-27 15:42:41 UTC
Ferrara is PPR on weekdays per NOTAM. Permission is granted quickly via email. Airfield rather deserted (Thu, 1700); entered making blind transmissions.
At departure (Fri, 1700) another aircraft was preparing.
Arrival/departure in contact with Bologna Radar and Padova Information. No issues.
Unfortunately, officially no Avgas for third parties outside the club.
Civil Airfield Pescara (LIBP)
by ch • 2025-08-27 15:42:41 UTC
Email for PPR is answered promptly (provide all data, ETA/ETD, DEP/DES even if not yet certain, a VAT No ;-), name & address of the operator).
Reception very friendly, parking opposite the terminal, back-in toward the grass.
Drivalia offers a good off-season rate for rental cars even without a booking on site.
Security with license was no issue and billing was quick. Handling €50, bus €12. LDG/TO €7. PKG 3 nights €11 (1400 MTOW) a bit pricey for an overnight, but attractive for a stay with €4/day parking.
On departure the controller was a bit confused and had us taxi around: B RWY A TWY B, backtrack 04... ;-)
Civil Airfield Brescia / Montichiari (LIPO)
by ch • 2025-08-27 15:42:41 UTC
Parking must be reserved (by phone or email) because at night several freighters are on quick turnarounds and need the space. When possible you get the green light immediately.
The whole team is very friendly. Cones all around, chocks, and a taxi to the terminal—and all that for €30 handling (greetings to EDFL for the €60 cone game there). In addition, just under €10 were charged for landing and one night of parking. They will call a taxi; to Brescia it’s about €35–40.
Brescia is a nice Italian city. The field is a real alternative to the grass strips in the area—and with IFR approaches…
Civil Airfield Ravenna (LIDR)
by ch • 2025-08-27 15:42:41 UTC
Uncomplicated, almost deserted airfield. 48 hr PPR due to fire brigade standby. But on weekends there are 1 or 2 jump aircraft operating, so you can just fly in—monitor the aerodrome frequency and/or Bologna Approach to hear when a drop has taken place / aircraft are on the ground. Do not land when parachutists are in the air.
Taxi best via app, or by kwiggle ;-)
No fees, no Avgas, no service.
Caution—on Mondays the field is closed! Really closed, from prior experience ;-)
Civil Airfield Palermo / Bocca Di Falco (LICP)
by ch • 2025-08-27 15:42:41 UTC
Challenging approach, especially from the NW, winding around mountains with no line of sight to the runway. Runway in good condition. PPR with an unnecessarily detailed web form, but quick response.
Taxiway quite narrow.
A bit expensive: landing and 3 days of parking €100, of which €65 “handling” (MTOW 1400). Avgas would have been €3.50/L—still, good that it’s available at all.
Extremely friendly team on site, offering technical and practical help. Taxi, or Lorenzo from the club, costs €30 per ride. Theoretically Uber is cheaper; in practice, it isn’t.
Traffic is heavy at all times; the 6 km often take half an hour. Not really safe by bike either.
The city is an experience.
Civil Airfield A.Li. Caorle (LIKE)
by ch • 2025-08-27 15:42:41 UTC
As part of a small Easter tour, we also stopped by Caorle. Runway and taxiway have fairly long grass. Call Pietro now (+393490029012; see Avioportolano). A donation box is now at the exit. Surprisingly little traffic. Still good coffee at the club. Outside the season you can also find something in Caorle for €70. On weekends and holidays, no problem getting a climb north directly after departure from Treviso Approach.
Civil Airfield Olbia / Costa Smeralda (LIEO)
by ch • 2025-08-27 15:42:41 UTC
Mandatory handling works. Arrival and departure are straightforward and quick. Release on 130.405 prior to startup is a nuisance. Not much going on yet in May. Goldcar is at the terminal and has good cars and prices with online booking. The walk between the GA terminal and the car rental is too far without a bicycle.
LDG, PKG 3 nights, handling, no PAX = 68€
Airport Lelystad (EHLE)
by ch • 2023-10-27 00:00:00 UTC
Diversion due to excessively wet/soft runway at Hilversum. Light traffic due to poor weather, so as an exception cleared straight-in to 05 instead of entry via Bravo. Follow-me to parking.
Civil Airfield Letnany (LKLT)
by ch • 2018-06-02 00:00:00 UTC
Everything went smoothly for me again today: arrival via Romeo and landing on 23R. Taxi slowly on the taxiway. Everyone was friendly and helpful. On request, a later departure would also have been possible (for an additional landing fee—reasonable). Metro to the center (+/- 20 min) is a 10 min walk, BUT bring coins—best to get change right at the field! Everything else can be paid by card or in EUR.
