Around the airport, very friendly and helpful people.

S-Bahn to the city €3, every 30 minutes during the day (evenings once per hour).
Despite traffic mostly in the , there is trouble; the controller (feels) obliged to file an official report.

Dresden (EDDC) is widely regarded as a highly GA-friendly international airport, with consistently professional and welcoming ATC and ground staff. Both VFR and IFR operations are straightforward, with flexible approach sequencing and sightseeing within the CTR often accommodated. No PPR is generally required for VFR, but an arrival permit process may be delayed in some cases. Parking is usually available on a spacious apron, with tie-down points and jet blast protection; pilots without their own ropes can obtain them on site.
Fees for landing, parking, and handling have historically been moderate for a major airport, especially with the "weekend special" offering significant discounts—examples include about €20–€40 for landing plus one night parking at weekends. Multiple 2021+ reports show typical charges ranging from about €20 to €120 depending on duration and services; one example is about €35 for landing, handling, and one night parking, while another cites over €120 for short stays in some cases. A fee of about €50 may apply solely for passport control when required. Parking is often free during weekends. Handling is not compulsory for smaller aircraft; transport between aircraft and terminal is included.
Facilities are modern and efficient, with follow-me service to parking stands, shuttle or bus transfer to the terminal or GAT, and prompt fueling by bowser (BP/AirBP card accepted). Self-briefing PCs are available but may have restricted internet access. No maintenance or hangar services are available on site; all parking is outdoors. The terminal offers shops, restaurants, and a separate GA area with briefing room.
Access to Dresden city center is excellent: the S-Bahn station lies directly beneath the terminal, with trains every 30 minutes taking 15–30 minutes to reach downtown for around €2–€3 per person. Taxis cost about €25–€32 to the city center.
Security procedures are thorough but efficient; pilots must present their license at security checks when returning airside. Separate security teams may be required for passengers versus crew. Customs and immigration are available at all times without advance notice.
Overall, EDDC offers an efficient, welcoming experience for non-commercial GA flights with good value fees (especially on weekends), excellent city access, and high service standards.
