Airport Chalon Champforgeuil (LFLH) IFR

Chalon Champforgeuil (LFLH) offers both asphalt and grass parking, with a small asphalt apron and short grass tie-downs. The airfield is well maintained and features AFIS with good English. Self-service Avgas is available by credit card, though some cards may face high pre-authorization limits; assistance and alternative payment options are available in the office. No camping is allowed due to security fencing.

Landing fees are typically about €20, while parking is charged at about €40 per 24 hours, calculated hourly with four hours included in the landing fee. The airfield experiences intensive skydiving activity, especially on weekends, with a PC-6 operating for parachute drops. Standard French overhead joins are not recommended; instead, join downwind directly west of the field to avoid parachutists. Remain vigilant for skydiving operations and for the Pilatus Porter using the grass runway from all directions.

Facilities include a small bistro or café in the tower building offering coffee and snacks; frozen meals may be available. The staff are described as friendly and helpful. There is no on-field restaurant, but Chalon offers a wide selection of restaurants, particularly on Ile St Laurent.

Ground transport options include taxis to Chalon at about €40 for 8 km; Uber may be cheaper but is rarely available. A bus stop (Mairie de Champforgeuil) is located about 2 km from the airport with service into the city for €1.20; walking into town is possible but not recommended.
