Oxford Airport (EGTK)

by Klaus2026-02-26 11:01:47 UTC

Yesterday we flew IFR from EDLN to EGTK and back. The preparation with GAR and PPR was a bit involved. We received vectors to the ILS 19. Everyone on site was very friendly. ATC kept giving us headings, which mostly matched the waypoints. Overall, uneventful flights. The landing fee for the 414 (2880 kg) was 207,60 GBP in total, equivalent to 239,30 €. The AVGAS truck came to the aircraft; we were able to pay with AirBP.

Yesterday we flew VFR from Mönchengladbach to Erfurt. Requested an RNP approach; Tower cleared us immediately without any issues. Everyone at the airport was very friendly, both Tower and the GAT. We were offered a drink right away. The coffee, freshly ground, was very good. Landing fee for Cessna 414 (MTOW 2880 kg): total 110 €.

Visited on 23 Dec 2025. Everyone very friendly and helpful. All slots were adhered to. All-in landing fee for a Cessna 414 (MTOW = 2880 kg) amounted to 230,50 €. Despite being an international airport, no problem for GA. Everyone relaxed.

Reims Prunay Airport (LFQA)

by Klaus2026-01-14 07:05:39 UTC

Flew to Reims yesterday. Interesting arrival. Although the airfield has neither a control zone nor ATC, you don’t have to switch from IFR to VFR. RNP Approach to runway 07. Paris Radar vectors you close to the field and then releases you with the instruction to continue at "own discretion." On base leg you then call Prunay Info. Departure is straightforward as well. Prunay Info gives you the transponder code and frequency, and after takeoff you simply check in with Radar. The people on the field are very friendly and helpful. However, the lunch break is sacred; you should neither arrive nor depart during that time. Pre-notification via the platform cy.myhandlingsoftware.com is convenient and apparently usable for many airfields in France. That way they already have all your data on site and you receive the acceptance via e-mail in advance. Filling it out is a bit tricky the first time because you have to enter a lot of data about the aircraft and crew—among other things the Firecat. I had never heard of it before, but the folks at the field are happy to help with patient information. After that it’s saved for future use. English is no problem. The landing fee for the Cessna 414 (MTOW = 2880kg) was about 140 €. And then you’re right in the middle of Champagne!
