Airport Reims Prunay (LFQA) IFR

LFQA (Reims-Prunay) is a popular, GA-friendly airfield with instrument approaches (RNP and VOR) to both runways, though minimums are relatively high. No PPR is required for general operations. IFR clearances are available from the tower during AFIS hours; outside these times, communication is in French only. AFIS and reception hours may differ from AIP/NOTAM, with typical lunch closures; check directly for current times. Hard apron parking is available at a surcharge compared to grass parking.

Landing fees for non-commercial GA typically range from about €10 to €50 depending on parking surface and duration. Example: landing and two nights parking about €50; landing and two days hard apron parking about €60. Handling fees may apply for larger or turbine aircraft, with higher total charges possible. Self-service Avgas 100LL and JetA1 are available by credit card or BP card at the pump; JetA1 refuelling can also be done by staff at no extra charge.

The on-field restaurant offers good food but has variable opening hours and may close for lunch or weekends; local Champagne is sold at reception. Free WiFi is available, and the terminal provides weather printouts on request. Tie-down chains are present on the ramp, and both grass and asphalt parking are in good condition.

Transport to Reims city center is easy via Uber or Bolt (typically 10–15 minutes, €20–€35). Taxis cost around €30–€50 depending on time and day; public transport options exist but are infrequent. Car hire delivery to the airfield is possible but can be expensive.

Noise abatement requires avoiding nearby villages during circuit operations; expect mixed traffic including gliders and paragliders in uncontrolled airspace (Golf). The runway features a long displaced threshold on 07, with a road close to the threshold.
