Civil Airfield Kyritz (EDBK)

Well, one star would have to be deducted because the on-field restaurant is (basically always or repeatedly) closed. Apart from that, it’s the perfect airfield: 850 m asphalt runway 14-32, good for crosswind training; likewise a grass strip. Large, very professional maintenance shop, the largest flight school far and wide. Staff with a pilot mindset. Aerops accepted. Parking more than sufficient. AvGas and Jet A1 fuel available, unfortunately no MoGas. Night operations lighting available on request. My wish? A rail link to Berlin, 80 km away, would be a dream. The roads have been under construction for decades.

Civil Airfield Neustadt Glewe (EDAN)

Great! In a way, a pilots’ paradise for many kinds of air sports. Very long grass runways for virtually all wind directions, 09-27, 36-18. Low landing fees. AvGas, MoGas at typical prices, unfortunately toward the higher end. As of September 2025, no food service yet; planned. The question remains: what do you do there besides refueling and visiting an airfield—soak up the atmosphere? Extremely rural all around. Maybe that’s why?

Civil Airfield Flensburg Schaeferhaus (EDXF)

The AI-generated version is already quite good. The airfield is really attractive. People are friendly. The restaurant, although apparently closed on weekdays, offers a small menu, well prepared and at a low price. AvGas is indeed significantly cheaper at nearby fuel stations (Tondern, Rendsburg). That said, both the grass and asphalt runways are in top condition.

Civil Airfield Bad Duerkheim (EDRF)

I am correcting the AI-generated content in the text. EDRF offers a welcoming atmosphere with friendly and helpful airfield staff. The field has an asphalt runway of approx. 600 m. Pilots describe the approach to RWY 08 as scenic but note a nearby hangar and a tree line north of the runway that, especially with north or northeast wind, may cause turbulence or sudden sink. Radio communications are generally clear and helpful; English available. Operating hours are good; on weekdays generally from 10:30 LT. Landing fees low to moderate. Example: landing fee about €10. Payment by card only. Parking on grass only; no paved stands; overnight parking possible. A popular on-field restaurant with terrace and conservatory offers regional cuisine, cakes, and steaks at fair prices. The restaurant is often busy—advance reservation recommended, especially in winter or on weekends. (As of Aug 2025 currently closed until further notice) Town center and spa district are reachable on foot in about 20–30 minutes; a nearby lake and campground are 3–5 minutes on foot; bicycles can be rented at the campground. One of the most scenic airfields in the wider area. Fuel (MOGAS and AVGAS) available via self-service/automated pumps.
