Pilot Comments for EDRV
D.
Nice airfield with an active gliding club and friendly people. There is a restaurant open on weekends with a small menu, a selection of cakes, and coffee. The approach to RWY 25 is straightforward; the runway has a slight uphill gradient and a slight lateral slope. In practice it’s far less critical than the AIP makes it appear. For an uphill takeoff, with the treeline ahead, keep some performance reserves and have a Plan B. Landing fee is at your discretion—drop it in the donation box in the tower. The major drawback is the condition of the runway and taxiway: the undulations and bumps are a stress test even for robust landing gear. A pity, because otherwise it’s a very nice field that deserves more frequent visits.

Airfield with an active gliding club and friendly atmosphere. Restaurant operates on weekends with a small menu, cakes, and coffee; popular in summer. Runway 25 approach is straightforward, though the runway rises and has a slight sideways slope; actual difficulty is less than AIP suggests. Takeoff uphill requires some margin and contingency planning due to the treeline ahead. Runway and taxiway have significant bumps and undulations, challenging even for robust landing gear; caution advised when taxiing. Landing fee is discretionary, placed in a donation box in the tower.
