Unusual airfield layout with a public road crossing the approach path to runway 22; AIP requires overflying the road at a minimum of 50 feet, which can make approaches challenging, especially given the short grass runway. Hangars and the main restaurant are located across the road from the parking area, requiring a walk over a busy street and about 100 meters to reach facilities or pay landing fees. The grass runway may be rough or have high grass, potentially increasing takeoff distance in warm conditions.

On-field amenities include a restaurant run by a friendly couple, open daily and also handling PPR requests, as well as a kiosk offering snacks like bratwurst and ice cream. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. No Mogas is available despite some lists suggesting otherwise. Operations include parachuting, glider towing, and ultralight activity with alternating use of the field.
