Civil Airfield Kufstein Langkampfen (LOIK)

LOIK features a well-maintained grass runway with detailed arrival procedures, including illustrated approach paths and videos available on the airfield website. PPR is required at least 24 hours in advance, with prompt email responses. The circuit and approach can be challenging for those unfamiliar with alpine flying, especially due to curving base and final legs for runway 06 and terrain constraints; careful preflight study is recommended. There is significant glider and tow activity. For departures from runway 06, a right turn after takeoff is required for noise abatement, and obstacles near the departure end of runway 06 should be considered.

Landing fees are generally higher for Austria. Example: landing fee about €20. For three landings plus one night parking, about €50. Hangar space can be reserved by email, with overnight rates around €20. Bicycles are available on request for the 6 km trip to Kufstein; walking takes nearly an hour. A bus stop is directly at the field, though service intervals may vary; local members sometimes offer rides into town. The Stimmersee lake is accessible within 10–15 minutes on foot for swimming or walking.

Fuel (AVGAS and MOGAS) is available, and a club workshop exists for emergencies. Parking and hangarage are generally not problematic. The Fliegerstuben restaurant is located at the airfield and receives positive remarks; a campsite with full facilities is adjacent to the field.

LOIK offers a friendly atmosphere, helpful staff, good facilities, and scenic surroundings suitable for non-commercial general aviation use.
