Civil Airfield Bovec (LJBO)

PPR is required and must be requested online via the website, though confirmation emails are not sent. The airfield sits in a narrow valley surrounded by high mountains, making approaches challenging, especially from the north via the Predil Pass and Koritnica Valley, which requires alpine flying experience. The approach from the south along the Soča River is less demanding. Standard procedures are landing on runway 07 (slightly uphill) and departure on 25, both dictated by terrain; departures are generally only possible to the south due to elevation and valley constraints. Right-hand downwind is used when approaching from the north, with caution advised for significant parachuting activity south of the field from sunrise to sunset.

The grass runway is well maintained. A relatively new bar/restaurant operates on site. The town of Bovec, with various bars, restaurants, and outdoor sports centers, is 800 meters away and accessible on foot in about 10–15 minutes. Camping, climbing, rafting, kayaking, and canyoning are popular in the area.
