Civil Airfield Milano / Bresso (LIMB)

Milano Bresso (LIMB) is a general aviation airfield located close to Milan city center, operated by Aero Club Milano. PPR/PNR is mandatory for both arrival and departure, with notification required at least 3 hours in advance via the Aero Club Milano website. The airfield operates under complex airspace, with Airspace A at 2000 ft and Linate CTR to the east; circuit entry is typically from the northwest or west, and maintaining 2000 ft over the field is standard. IFR pickup on departure is possible with Milano Radar. Procedures may vary; see AIP/NOTAM.

The asphalt runway has significant cracks with visible grass growth, but remains operational. Parking is available on well-maintained grass areas, and hangar space may be offered depending on availability. Refueling (Avgas and Jet A) is available through the Aeroclub; payment is handled locally, and service is generally quick. Example: landing fee about €70. Other examples include landing plus 24h parking about €20, and a higher total fee of €80 for international arrivals including handling and fire service charges.

A restaurant operates on the field, described as good, with additional dining options nearby including a pizzeria and supermarket within walking distance. Accommodation options include the Neo Hotel directly across from the airfield.

Access to Milan center is possible by taxi (about €30–40, 20–30 minutes depending on traffic), or by public transport: bus 83 to Comasina then metro to Duomo for about €3; walking time to metro station ranges up to 30 minutes. Car rental services are available nearby (e.g., SIXT at Sesto San Giovanni), with airport pickup possible by prior arrangement.

Customs are not routinely available; outbound Extra-Schengen flights require prior coordination with Guardia di Finanza via phone and email as per AIP instructions. No customs clearance for inbound flights from outside Schengen.

Noise abatement and airspace restrictions require attention due to proximity of Milan Linate and city controlled zones. Haze can reduce visibility but local operations continue with minimum visibility of 1500 m accepted.

Overall, LIMB offers efficient access to Milan for non-commercial GA flights, provided PPR/PNR procedures are followed and airspace constraints respected.
