Civil Airfield Haguenau (LFSH)

Straightforward VFR operations with standard French blind calls; no AFIS. The circuit is noise-sensitive, especially for departures, and use of runway 03 is preferred for noise abatement. The restricted area LF-D526 lies just northeast of the circuit and must be observed. Weekdays may see active restricted areas in the region; check AIP/NOTAM. Flight plans must be closed by phone due to lack of AFIS; phone 0156301301.

Landing fees are low and often not collected if the office is unstaffed; payment is made at the aeroclub or via AirOps when possible. Example: landing fee about €10. The aeroclub is usually staffed, while the official airfield office is often unattended. Multiple maintenance providers are present on site.

AVGAS (100LL) and UL91 are available, but fueling requires prior coordination with the Aeroclub Haguenau as there is no self-service terminal. Payment can be made by cash or credit card.

The on-field restaurant Le Saint Exupéry offers quality food in a small dining room; advance reservation is recommended, especially at weekends. A Chinese buffet restaurant and a hotel (Champ d’Alsace) are within short walking distance; the hotel’s restaurant operates only for events.

Ground access to Haguenau town center is possible by bus in about 10 minutes for €1–2 per person. The nearest bus stop (Branly) is a 5-minute walk from the airfield, with departures every 30 minutes; direct airport service runs only early morning and late afternoon. Walking to town takes about 25 minutes.

The airfield perimeter is fenced; re-entry uses a code system based on the radio frequency. The atmosphere is friendly, with helpful aeroclub members who often speak German and French.

Overall, LFSH offers easy GA access, low fees, basic services, good food options nearby, and convenient ground transport to town. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM.
