Airport Paris Saclay Versailles (LFPN) IFR

LFPN (Toussus-le-Noble) is a busy GA airport with IFR and VFR access, two parallel runways, and professional ATC, though ATS is not always available. On certain days each month, when ATS is unavailable (see AIP/NOTAM), the airport is closed to non-based aircraft. In summer, there is no operation on Sundays from 12:00 to 15:00. PPR is generally not required except on these restricted days. Approaches often provide excellent views of Paris; arrivals and departures may involve complex routings and altitude restrictions due to proximity to Orly, CDG, and Le Bourget. Strict adherence to published procedures and avoidance of blue-circled areas on the VAC are necessary.

Landing fees are moderate for the region. Example: landing fee about €30. Parking fees are charged per hour; Example: parking about €2 per hour. Fees are typically invoiced by email or post after your visit; payment can be made via Aerops or credit card. Handling is not mandatory for non-commercial GA.

Fuel (100LL and Jet A1) is available by fuel truck; advance reservation via web form or app is strongly recommended to avoid delays. Payment for fuel can be made by credit card or Total card. There is also a 98 Mogas pump, but price advantage over Avgas is minimal.

The terminal is usually unmanned; access to airside requires collecting a chip card from a dispenser before exiting—without it, re-entry can be difficult. The Aero Touring Club de France offers friendly parking adjacent to the Air&Cook restaurant if arranged in advance. Two restaurants are on site: "Le Bouchon" under the tower (less popular), and "Air&Cook" in the southwest area (well regarded; reservation advised). A pilot shop operates near the exit.

Ground transport options include taxis (to Versailles €15–€25, to Paris €50–€80), Uber, or bus connections to Versailles with onward train service into central Paris (total journey typically 60–70 minutes). Car hire is possible via Europcar with key pickup at the pilot shop.

Noise abatement and airspace restrictions are significant; avoid prohibited areas near Villacoublay and strictly follow published arrival/departure routes. The airport can be very busy with simultaneous operations on both runways and frequent frequency changes during IFR procedures.

Customs/immigration for non-Schengen flights is no longer available at LFPN; plan accordingly if arriving from or departing to non-Schengen destinations.

LFPN offers efficient access to Paris for non-commercial GA flights with good facilities, moderate fees, reliable fuel service when prearranged, and straightforward ground transport links. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM.
