Airport Ouessant (LFEC) IFR

LFEC (Île d'Ouessant) is a quiet, well-maintained island airfield with a hard, 780 m asphalt runway and RNAV/LPV approaches available to both ends. IFR arrivals are possible; AFIS operates in French and is present during the day and on commercial flights, otherwise self-announce in French on AutoInfo. No fuel or customs are available. The airfield is not a Port of Entry and is accessible only from within Schengen.

Landing fees are paid by depositing the amount in a box at the airfield when unattended. Example: landing fee about €20 for a 24-hour stay. Annual parking is available, with an example rate of about €500 per year. No automatic weather station exists; the island can experience sudden low cloud.

The main village is 20–35 minutes on foot from the airfield. Cycling is popular, with several bike hire companies offering delivery to the airport or rentals at the port. The island features holiday cottages, a creperie overlooking the harbour, and tourist attractions such as a lighthouse museum. No fuel or hangar facilities are reported; apron space is limited but usually sufficient.

Approaches may require early touchdown due to runway slope from coast to island, and arrival/departure over water is standard. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM.
