Long taxi distances are possible, sometimes up to 6 kilometers between the GAT and runways. At runway 07R, radio contact may be lost near the departure point for smaller aircraft.
Security procedures can be strict, with checks by security vans reported. Organization at the airport is described as complicated, and ground handling is essential for smooth operations. For non-commercial GA, LEBL is generally not recommended unless necessary due to cost and complexity; alternatives such as Sabadell (VFR only) or Reus may be preferable.
