LDZD (Zadar) offers both IFR and VFR operations with ILS and VOR approaches available. PPR is mandatory for parking, especially during summer and high season, due to limited GA ramp space. The airport enforces mandatory use of the General Aviation Terminal (GAT) for all GA flights, with significant surcharges: crew are charged about €50 each way and passengers about €65 each way; on weekends and during high season, additional VIP handling fees of around €175–€218 per operation apply. These charges are in addition to standard landing, parking, and handling fees. Example: landing, handling, and three nights’ parking can total about €400; single-night stops range from about €170 to over €180 depending on services used and number of persons onboard. Fees increase sharply with additional crew or passengers.
Service quality is consistently described as friendly and efficient, with professional ATC and ground staff. The GAT provides drinks, snacks, internet access, a crew room (with shower), and apron transport. Fuel service is fast; Avgas is available at competitive prices. Maintenance support is available on site via Aerostandard.
Ground transport options include rental cars directly at the terminal and public buses to the city for about €2; taxis vary widely in price (about €15–€50), with ride-hailing apps like Bolt or Uber offering lower fares than airport taxis. Walking into town is not practical.
Customs and immigration are handled efficiently through the main terminal or GAT as required. For all operations, advance coordination via groundops@zadar-airport.hr is recommended.
High overall costs make LDZD less attractive for non-commercial GA compared to previous years; procedures vary—see AIP/NOTAM for current requirements.
