Visingsö Airport (ESSI)

ESSI is a grass airfield located on an island in Lake Vättern, surrounded by a golf course and offering two runways (800 x 25 m and 600 x 25 m). The field is well maintained, with windsock and markings renewed. Parking is available close to the beach, and camping directly at the aircraft is possible, including a designated area near the shore. A small clubhouse can be rented for overnight stays and offers basic amenities; otherwise, facilities are limited to a composting toilet and access to water at the adjacent golf club. No fuel or lighting is available.

Bicycles are available for hire at the clubhouse, though their condition varies. The nearest town is 5–6 km away, accessible by bike or on foot; no taxis operate on the island. Payment of landing fees and bicycle hire is made via QR code or cash in a box at the field. Example: landing fee about €10.
