Civil Airfield älmhult/Möckeln (ESMU)

Grass runway with occasional soft spots after rain; high embankments at both ends and trees along the sides create an unusual approach profile, manageable for those with grass experience. Turbulence may occur on final for 03 in strong westerly winds due to trees near the end of 21. Hangar space is not always available, but camping on site is possible. Bicycles and canoes can be rented nearby, and the Sjöstugans Hotell / Camping Ground is accessible. Walking to Älmhult takes about 35 minutes, or 5 minutes by local bus; taxi service is unreliable. The airfield is quiet with little traffic, sometimes shared with model aircraft activity. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM.
