Civil Airfield Szymanow (EPWS)

Advance notification by email is generally required for landing, with confirmations often received within an hour; contact aeroklub@aeroklub.wroc.pl. English on the radio varies from good to challenging depending on staff, but ground and air personnel are described as friendly and helpful. The main runway in use is 32R/14R, with a grass surface that can be uneven or have high grass in places; taxiing may involve rolling through long grass, and aircraft may need to be moved by hand on the concrete apron near the hangar and fuel station. Runway and taxiway conditions are generally acceptable, but increased attention is advised when taxiing off paved areas.

Landing and parking fees are low to moderate. Example: landing and two days’ parking about €60; another example: landing and one night parking about €20. Payment by card is possible. Fuel (100LL, UL91, Avgas) is available at the field; prices vary, and fuel service is generally straightforward. Accommodation is available on site in simple rooms with shower/WC, and a communal kitchen is present. Taxis to Wrocław city center can be arranged by staff or via rideshare apps, with typical fares ranging from about €15–€20 or 30–100 PLN depending on provider and time of day; travel time is typically 20–25 minutes.

Car hire may be arranged in advance through the aeroclub for local trips. The airfield provides a practical alternative to EPWR for VFR flights without instrument approach requirements. Slot or PPR procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM for current operational details.
