Pilot Comments for EGNR
Gunter
Very nice AD with the usual UK idiosyncrasies - wear high viz and get your PPR with ATC and the FBO. Small aircraft are handled by Aviation Park at an affordable rate. We paid around 55£ for landing and two nights parking. Service was very friendly and fuel was relatively inexpensive as well. The FBO is located at the northwestern corner of the field and taxiways are a bit confusing, so have better have the AD chart ready. There is a nice Café next to the FBO. Chester is a short Uber ride away. The city is really nice and you'll need a day to visit its sights.

PPR is required and can be arranged by phoning the tower or Hawarden Air Services. VFR pilots are accommodated on Apron N, with parking free for the first two hours. IFR arrivals can expect vectored ILS approaches at no extra cost. High visibility clothing is mandatory airside, and access is via the Flintshire Flying Club or a side gate with staff assistance; ID is required at the security barrier. The airfield offers fuel at north parking, and controllers provide a radar service on 123.350 MHz (DOC 25 nm). Chocks Away Café is available on site and popular, especially on weekends; JD Aviation may offer refreshments if the café is busy. Free WiFi is available at the Flintshire Flying Club.
Chester city centre is about 4 miles away, accessible by taxi for around £10; Enterprise Car Hire can deliver vehicles to the club. Chester Zoo and other attractions are nearby. Example: landing fee about £40; parking per day about £20. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM.
