Civil Airfield Thruxton (EGHO)

PPR is required via the website, but responses are not sent; the process serves as notification rather than approval. The airfield is located within the Thruxton Circuit racetrack and is closed to movements on four weekends each year by NOTAM, typically from Friday evening to Sunday evening. The circuit pattern often includes several training aircraft. Approaches from the east may require coordination with Boscombe Down MATZ; circuit height is 800 ft QFE when Boscombe is active, 1000 ft when not. Boscombe Down may permit an ILS or PAR approach followed by a short VFR hop to Thruxton, but this is not guaranteed; procedures vary—see AIP/NOTAM.

Landing and parking fees are low. Example: landing about £8 and overnight parking about £15 per night. The hard runway is 800 m, with an extension available.

Jet A1 fuel is available. On arrival, Border Police may request a phone call with a passenger to confirm details.

Uber to Southampton costs about £50 and takes around one hour. Car rental and taxis are available from Andover. Local accommodation and restaurants are accessible in nearby towns such as Stockbridge.
