Airport Londonderry/Eglinton (EGAE) IFR PPR

EGAE (City of Derry/Londonderry) requires PPR, which can be arranged by phone or via flight@cityofderryairport.com. ATC operates with scheduled pauses, so careful attention to operational hours is necessary. IFR approaches are available via ILS only; there is no RNP, and no radar service—procedural control applies. The ILS for runway 08 is offset due to a factory under the approach, and trains crossing the 26 undershoot may take priority over GA movements. Parking is on the main apron with marshaller guidance, and handling is described as friendly and flexible.

Landing and parking fees are generally moderate. Example: landing about £20, parking about £20 per night. Payment for fees and fuel is made landside at the terminal information desk after being escorted from airside. Avgas (100LL) is available by bowser or truck; duty-free fuel is possible when departing to the Republic of Ireland or other international destinations.

Facilities include a modern terminal with a small shop/café (opening times may align with commercial flights), car hire desks (Hertz and Avis), and basic services such as security scanning for departures. Buses between the airport and city run infrequently; taxis are best arranged by phone (+44 28 7126 4466), with fixed fares around £15–20 for a 20-minute ride into town. Walking distance from apron to terminal is about 80 meters.

A GAR form is normally required 12 hours in advance for international arrivals, including flights from within the UK, submitted via official portals. The city offers cultural attractions, historic sites, and good food options nearby.
