Hanko Airport (EFHN)

No PPR required. The airfield is surrounded by tall trees, which can cause significant turbulence in crosswind conditions. Multiple nearby airfields share the same frequency; always state the airfield name with each radio call. A large active drone restricted area exists over Åland/Southwest Finland, and there are restricted areas close by, including a dynamite factory to the north and a nature reserve to the south. The runway is long but relatively narrow. Parachute operations occur frequently; make position reports early and maintain vigilance. The town is about 15 minutes away by taxi and is lively in summer.
