Kuressaare (EEKE) is a well-equipped and generally quiet airport suitable for general aviation, offering both VFR and IFR operations with ILS, VOR, and RNP approaches. No PPR is required, and the field is managed by AFIS rather than a tower. Two runways provide flexibility in windy conditions. Outside AFIS hours, landings are possible without fees, but services may be unavailable; procedures vary, so see AIP/NOTAM.
The terminal is modern and functional, with tie-downs and parking available on the apron’s south side. Avgas is available at the airfield; weekday access is all day, while weekend availability may be limited. Example: handling about €80. Example: landing, navigation, and overnight parking about €40. Facilities include a small café/bar in the terminal and free Wi-Fi. E-scooter rental is possible.
Kuressaare town lies 2–3 km from the airport; taxis cost about €10 and take a few minutes, while walking takes 20–30 minutes. The island offers attractive destinations for visitors.
Cautions include occasional bird activity on or near the runways and the need for high-visibility vests when leaving aircraft on the apron. Some reports note that staff may be absent outside scheduled hours; at times, security may enforce vest requirements strictly even when no other personnel are present. Procedures for flight plan filing may require paper forms with detailed boundary points for VFR flights.
Customs are available; no advance notice or restrictions are reported for non-commercial GA use.
