Civil Airfield Heide Buesum (EDXB)

EDXB is a well-maintained airfield near the North Sea, centrally located about 5 minutes from Büsum’s harbor. The runway and taxiways are in very good condition, with tie-down rings available due to frequent windy weather. The approach is generally clear, though numerous wind turbines north of the runway (up to 687 ft) require attention; downwind is at 800 ft. The airfield operates PPR during winter time but is often open, and procedures are relaxed with helpful ground staff.

Avgas, SuperPlus, and Mogas are available on site; Jet A1 is only for contract partners. Fuel prices are described as moderate to high compared to nearby fields. Free bicycles in good condition are provided for trips into Büsum or to the beach (about 4 km or 20 minutes by bike), and scooters or small rental cars (Smart) are available at low rates. Camping under the wing is permitted, with an outdoor shower provided, and overnight hangar parking is possible when space allows.

A bistro at the airfield operates daily from 11:00–20:00 during summer; at times in the past, the restaurant has been closed or changed operators, but food and drink options are generally available either on site or in Büsum. Accommodation in Büsum is easy to find, with several hotels recommended by pilots.
