Civil Airfield Rinteln (EDVR)

EDVR is situated in attractive surroundings with a friendly atmosphere and is well suited for general aviation visits. The airfield features a restaurant that has recently changed management and is popular with visitors, including cyclists. The historic city center and a lake are accessible, typically within 5–10 minutes by car or bicycle, and can also be reached on foot. Bicycle availability varies; when not available, local staff may assist with transport into town.

The airfield experiences significant glider activity, especially on weekends. PPR is straightforward to obtain during the week. Approaches are obstacle-free except for crows near the water ditch before runway 11, which can require a go-around. The runway is in good condition; taxiing to buildings is over grass, which is generally level but can be soft in wet conditions. Parking alternatives include partially paved areas near the start of runway 29.

Fuel is available but payment is cash only; card or carnet payments are not accepted. Facilities include a restaurant and information brochures about local attractions. Landegebühren are low; Example: landing fee about €5.

The airfield maintains regular opening hours as a Verkehrslandeplatz and offers a welcoming environment for visiting pilots.
