Saulgau Airport (EDTU)

Parachute jump operations are frequent, which can lead to increased traffic; coordination with the jump aircraft and a PPR request by phone are required, but straightforward. With easterly wind, the final approach to RWY 12 becomes more demanding due to the crosswind and a parallel stretch of forest with a hill. The airfield has a 450 m paved runway. Friendly staff, helpful crew, and straightforward handling are repeatedly highlighted.

Example: landing fee about €10. Inexpensive fuel is offered. Hangar space may be available by prior arrangement, especially in bad weather. Restaurant or pilot pub on the field; service is friendly.

The old town is reachable on foot in 30 minutes; rides to the hotel were occasionally arranged by the staff. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM.
