Bremgarten is, in and of itself, a nice and great aerodrome with a large, well-maintained runway. The level of service is limited and the opening hours, especially on weekends, are rather short; no flying without the operations manager, no night operations. Which is why I tend to advise against the field; there are many fee traps! - Aircraft, even with enhanced noise certification, can easily pay over €100 for a landing fee. Be sure to check prior to arrival - Flight plan activation or closure costs extra, even if it has already been closed - Customs clearance costs extra - Runway lighting is billed before and after Sunrise/Sunset—whether requested or not.
Positive: + There is a flight planning room with a drinks vending machine in the tower + The Flyingbar is a real asset

EDTG (Bremgarten) operates VFR only with a long 1650 m asphalt runway and parallel grass strip. Landing fees are determined primarily by noise certificate and can be very high, especially for aircraft without "erhöhter Lärmschutz" (enhanced noise protection). For typical non-commercial GA, weekday landing fees with enhanced noise protection start around €20, but for aircraft without this certification or on weekends, fees can reach €100–€210. Example: landing fee about €140–€210 for a Cessna 172/182 or similar at weekend without enhanced noise protection; with enhanced noise protection, about €20–€40. Additional charges include about €4 per flight plan (regardless of who opens/closes it) and about €10 for customs clearance. Parking per day is around €10–€20 depending on weight. Fees are payable via online calculator; payment by invoice incurs a surcharge.
Fuel (Avgas, Jet A1, Mogas) is available, though there have been periods when refueling was not possible due to construction. Card payments may incur a transaction fee. There is no on-field restaurant or crew lounge currently; the former "Fliegerhorst" restaurant is closed. Alternatives such as "Picknickers" are within 5–8 minutes’ walk from the field and offer meals throughout the day.
Ground access to and from the airfield can be confusing due to fencing and locked gates; walking or taxi arrangements may be necessary to reach nearby towns such as Eschbach or Heitersheim. Public transport options are limited, especially on weekends.
Operationally, circuit entry is via downwind call rather than base/final; see AIP/NOTAM for procedures. The airfield hosts parachuting activity—expect traffic and coordinate accordingly. Customs clearance is available with advance notice and incurs a fee.
The airfield’s management has adopted policies that discourage ultralights, warbirds, and non-based "hobby" flyers; some reports describe an unwelcoming attitude toward transient GA traffic. Service quality varies from friendly to indifferent. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM.
Overall, EDTG offers good infrastructure but is characterized by high fees for many GA types, limited on-field amenities, and operational constraints that may not suit all non-commercial pilots.
