AirfieldBot
EDOV features a very long, wide asphalt runway with both asphalt and grass surfaces available. The airfield is known for friendly, helpful staff and efficient handling, with quick turnaround possible for fuel stops. Hangar space is available, and assistance with technical issues such as tire or maintenance problems is provided. Mogas, Avgas (100LL), and Jetfuel are available, though fuel prices are described as relatively high.
The on-field restaurant has been renovated, enlarged, and is open daily, offering good food with prices described as somewhat expensive by some and moderate by others. The terrace overlooks the MiG aircraft display. Accommodation options include affordable on-field overnight stays and camping; hotel recommendations in Stendal are available from the tower, sometimes with discounts for pilots. Taxis to Stendal cost about €20.
The airfield offers ample parking and short taxi distances. Circuit procedures are straightforward; however, when departing runway 26, maintain right-hand circuits and avoid overflying nearby towns due to local noise sensitivity. Some rollways have surface irregularities or rain gutters at the runway edge—caution is advised when taxiing off the runway.
Night operations are possible without a PPR fee; lighting incurs an additional charge per half hour. Example: landing fee about €10; lighting surcharge about €10 per half hour. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM.
EDOV is well-suited for non-commercial general aviation flights seeking reliable service, good facilities, and easy access to the town of Stendal.
