Pilot Comments for EDLP
Robbie
After a phone call - I emailed ops@airport-pad.com who confirmed no issues with a fuel stop. A friendly operations staff met me on arrival - Refuelling with AirBP, walked across the ramp to use the toilet and was told I could pay via the AerOps app. All in all, it is a very efficient stopping point in Germany.Landing fee, with noise certificate - MTOW up to 1200kg - 13.33 EURDespite stopping for less than 30 minutes, Parking fee per day - MTOW up to 2000kg - 4.17

Paderborn-Lippstadt (EDLP) offers a full range of IFR procedures, including ILS, RNAV/LPV, and NDB approaches to both runway ends. VFR and IFR operations are handled efficiently, with ATC generally described as professional and cooperative. PPR may be required; confirmation is available quickly via email with OPS. Practice approaches can be arranged in advance through Langen or requested with the tower in VMC. The airport operates 24 hours.
Fees for non-commercial GA are consistently described as low for an airport of this size. Landing fees for aircraft up to 1200 kg MTOW are about €15–20, with parking per day up to 2000 kg MTOW about €5. Example: landing fee about €20; parking per day about €5. Payment is possible by credit card, debit card, or the AeroPS app; the Landegutscheinheft is accepted. Handling is not mandatory.
Facilities include a dedicated GA terminal (GAT) with short walking distances to parking stands and the main terminal. The GAT offers a lounge, briefing room, vending machines, and free coffee for guests. A hotel is located directly at the airport and is recommended for overnight stays. Several food options exist: a self-service restaurant in the terminal, a cafeteria with sandwiches and drinks, and a pizzeria near the car park; quality varies but options are available both airside and landside.
Refuelling is efficient, typically handled by a bowser that arrives promptly; AirBP cards are accepted for fuel payment in most cases. Bringing your own chocks is advised due to limited ground equipment. Taxis can be ordered from the GAT; ground transport arrangements are straightforward.
Security procedures require passing through the GAT terminal; crew and passengers may need separate screening staff present, occasionally causing minor delays when traveling together. Access between airside and landside is clearly marked via 'C' or through the GAT building as signed.
Some pilots note faded taxiway markings and unmarked parking positions on the apron; reviewing parking charts in advance helps with ground navigation. ATC expects pilots to taxi directly to assigned stands without follow-me guidance.
Customs services are available; see AIP/NOTAM for current requirements.
EDLP is well-suited for non-commercial general aviation flights seeking efficient service, low fees, full IFR capability, and good facilities at a regional airport with minimal hassle.
