Civil Airfield Bielefeld (EDLI)

EDLI is a well-equipped and welcoming airfield with consistently friendly and helpful staff. The airfield offers a paved runway and good infrastructure, though parking is mostly on grass with limited hard-surface spots and no guaranteed hangar availability. A separate run-up area must be used, and the circuit can be challenging due to obstacles and windshear, particularly with high trees near both runway ends; after departure from RWY11, an immediate right turn is required to avoid overflying houses. The airfield handles both VFR and IFR traffic, including business turboprops and jets, but procedures may vary; see AIP/NOTAM.

A courtesy car is usually available free of charge for trips into town or to hotels, with App2Drive as an alternative; availability can vary. Public transport is convenient, with a bus stop directly outside the airport providing access to the city center.
