Allendorf/Eder Airport (EDFQ)

EDFQ operates as a private airfield with PPR required for most arrivals, including IFR; requests can be made via edfqinfo@gmail.com. During published opening hours, the field is open to the public without PPR, but outside these times or in winter, PPR is mandatory. IFR operations incur surcharges, with about €30 per movement; a total IFR bill example is about €100. The minimums for GPS approaches are relatively high. Procedures may vary; see AIP/NOTAM.

Landing fees are generally low, with VFR landings typically about €20. Overnight parking ranges from about €10 to €20. Customs and immigration are available on request for an additional fee of about €30.

Facilities include a large, well-maintained runway and apron, a heated lounge with WiFi and refreshments, and briefing rooms. Maintenance is available on site through ACG Air-Craft GmbH (noted as a Mooney Service Center). Payment for services is cash only. There is no restaurant or bar at the field; the nearest pizza place is 15 minutes on foot.

There is no lodging on site; accommodation options are 3–10 km away and may require taxi service. The airfield environment is described as quiet and friendly, with helpful staff and local pilots.

The approach from the north can be demanding due to terrain, though nothing unusual surrounds the field itself. Circuit traffic can be busy or unpredictable at times; vigilance in the pattern is advised. The airfield and its facilities are consistently described as clean and modern.
