The airfield is located in a scenic area near the coast and Salzhaff, but ground transport options are limited; walking to Rerik takes 25–60 minutes depending on route, while cycling takes about 15–30 minutes. On occasion, staff have offered rides into town or to local accommodation when taxis were unavailable.
