Pilot Comments for EDBF
Hubert
Fehrbellin, EDBF is far out im anywhere. Contradiction, but Fehrbellin is close to Berlin, just 50km to the south east. No taxi, no bus, no railway. The A24 is nearby, sometimes one or two cars by app2drive. Severe parachute activity demands a sharp look out, listening to the radio and never fly a midfield crossing. Enter the pattern as published. Helpful is the virtuell FLARM circle for those who are equipped with. No taxiway, enough parking place in gras. Overnight shelter rare until impossible. Except Avgas ( check the price!) ist no technical device available. Landing fee is according to the service ambitious. The restaurant, more bistro, offers very good food in a small menue on tough prices. The terasse is a nice spot looking to the parachute landings.
AirfieldBot
Fehrbellin (EDBF) is a welcoming airfield northwest of Berlin, popular for its friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. The field is active with flight schools and professional parachuting operations, especially on weekends, but the parachute activity is well organized and does not significantly disrupt other traffic. The airfield features a long, well-maintained asphalt runway with straightforward, obstacle-free approaches from both directions. Radio communication is generally in German, but English is also understood and used by ATC staff.
A restaurant with a large outdoor area offers good food and views of the runway and parachute operations. Facilities are clean and well-kept, with clear signage throughout the airfield. Fuel is available on site. The airfield is easily accessible by car via the nearby autobahn; public transport options are limited, with bus connections to Berlin available from the local village.
Landing fees are moderate. Example: landing fee about €10. Arrivals outside ATC hours incur an additional charge of about €40 per movement. For official contact, use +49 33932 72412 or tower@flugplatzfehrbellin.de.
Pilots should remain vigilant for parachute activity and the drop aircraft, especially during periods of active jumping. See AIP/NOTAM for procedures if needed. Fehrbellin offers a pleasant stop for general aviation pilots seeking friendly service and good amenities.
