Pilot Comments for EBBR
Klaus
Was my first flight to Brussels National. IFR from EDLN. Got short cuts from ATC. Approach and Departure were easier as expected. Organized everything via ExecuJet in advance. Very friendly and also very cooperative. Even slot changes were easy. Not cheap, but ok. Around 1000 € for groundhandling, slot coordination, landing, take-off and parking fee etc. for MTOW < 4000 kg

Handling and airport slots are mandatory. Handling is provided by ABELAG, which offers a pilots’ lounge with TV, internet, coffee machine, and a stocked fridge. The GAT is described as modern and well-equipped, though some find it lacking in atmosphere. Controllers and ground staff are generally friendly and professional.
Fees for general aviation are high. Example: total fees for handling, landing, and 8 hours parking about €700; another example: all taxes for landing and same-day departure about €550; one report notes a handling fee about €200. Parking for 8 hours can be included in these totals. Landing fees alone have been cited around €250–€300 in older reports.
Taxis are available at the GAT. The GAT is located about 20 minutes on foot from the main terminal; from there, trains to Brussels city center take another 15 minutes.
Fuel service is available but may be slow; one report notes a wait of up to 60 minutes for the fuel truck.
Procedures require advance slot coordination and flight plan filing. Some reports mention possible operational constraints or delays if not meeting speed requirements on approach. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM.
Brussels EBBR is suitable for general aviation but is considered expensive and less welcoming compared to alternatives such as Antwerp.
