Lviv Airport (UKLL)

International arrivals require advance permission, with application by email (ckp.intl@avia.gov.ua) at least three days before arrival; the process is free and applies to both VFR and IFR. The approval number must be entered in field 18 of the flight plan. Entry procedures are generally straightforward, with customs and immigration handled efficiently; a financial proof may be officially required but is not always checked. Flight plans must be confirmed by an additional notification beyond ACK, and Ukrainian ATC provides good English and vectoring, though occasional errors in flight plan entry have occurred.

Handling is mandatory and generally efficient, with paperwork completed on arrival. Example: landing, handling, and three days’ parking about €100. Another example: two nights’ parking including all fees about €230. Facilities include a modern terminal with tourist information, currency exchange, ATMs, and major car rental companies; the old terminal is under renovation for future GAT use. No avgas is available on site but can be brought in if needed.

Transport to the city center is convenient: a trolleybus runs directly from the terminal, and taxis or ride-hailing apps typically cost 70–110 UAH for a 15–20 minute trip. The airport is located at the city edge. For departure, check out at the information desk in the terminal; invoice processing may take some time.

The airport has low traffic volume and follow-me guidance on the ground. ILS approach intercepts glide slope at about 4 miles/1300 ft AGL. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM for current requirements.
