Grass runway, generally well maintained but taxiway is quite bumpy. Circuit entry can be challenging due to few visible reference points; special arrival and departure procedures are published on www.thun-airfield.ch and must be followed. Usable runway length is 670 meters, with trees beyond runway 32; grass length can be significant, especially when wet, which may double takeoff roll. Field is usually open with PPR by phone; listen to the recorded message for details. On weekends, PPR via +41 33 222 42 14 is required; during the week, the airfield is often closed but exceptions may be possible Tuesday to Friday. No departures allowed from 12:15 to 13:30 without special permission. Landing fees are simple and can be paid by form in a mailbox or at the on-field restaurant; Example: landing fee about CHF 20. Small restaurant on site offers simple, affordable hot meals. Five minutes on foot to the nearest bus stop, with a ten-minute ride to Thun city center.
