The airfield requires precise preparation and accurate flying due to challenging approaches and a short 400-meter runway. The approach to runway 16 involves a very short final and noise abatement procedures must be followed; the downwind leg is over a hill, making descent planning more complex. Starts in the direction of 16 are prohibited because of rising terrain south of the field. The standard approach to runway 34 requires a briefing, with an offset final and two tight turns; landing on 16 is possible after telephone coordination if wind permits.
