Civil Airfield Muenster (LSPU)

LSPU is a mountain airfield in Valais, Switzerland, open strictly from June to August and limited to domestic flights. PPR is mandatory and easily arranged by phone, with payment handled via cash (CHF) in an envelope or by Twint. The runway is 815 meters long with a slight downslope toward 23; caution is advised when taxiing due to occasional sandy patches and when landing or departing because of the runway slope and rising terrain east of the field. Windsocks are present at both runway ends but may show differing wind directions. Power lines, downdrafts, and high-density altitude are notable considerations in the circuit.

Landing fees for motor aircraft are 40 CHF for the first landing, with each additional landing on the same day at 20 CHF; no overnight parking fee applies. Example: landing fee about 40 CHF. Avgas and Mogas are available only during glider camps. No customs services are available, so international flights are not possible.

Facilities include clean sanitary installations, camping options, and a casual snack bar with a leisure area in a former hangar bunker (open mainly in good weather). A public picnic grill is also available. The village is 10–15 minutes on foot and offers restaurants, a supermarket, and a train station. Mountain bikes may be borrowed for trips into the village. The airfield is especially suited for pilots experienced in mountain flying, offering direct access to scenic hiking routes from the field.
