AirfieldBot
Operations limited to Monday to Friday, 7:30 to 15:30 local time; evening and weekend operations possible for a small surcharge. No Avgas available; Jet Fuel is available. No IFR approaches. WLAN is present. Some bureaucracy with separate payments for tower and airport; staff are friendly and helpful, with good English in the tower. Example: landing fee about €20. Taxi to the city or harbor costs around 50 Lei or €10; driver contact: +40 756 109 341. The airport is about 20 km from the city. The ferry to the Danube Delta departs at 13:30, boarding at 12:30, tickets sold in cash and local currency only (about 50 Lei per person each way). Accommodation in summer often requires advance booking; recommended options include Hotel Esplanada and Deltahotel near the harbor. No on-field restaurant, but free water is provided. The runway surface is concrete slabs and can be a bit rough. Customs procedures exist for international flights, with flexible handling if plans change. The Danube Delta is a major local attraction.
