Vilar De Luz Airport (LPVL)

LPVL is an uncontrolled airfield used mainly by a local flight school, suitable for visiting Porto. Operations require blind calls on the airfield frequency; contact with Porto Approach is needed before arrival and departure. The circuit is west of the field, and procedures are detailed in the Portuguese AIP. The runway is 1056 x 29 meters (16-34), with some taxiways in poor condition—especially on the west side and taxiway E, which has bumps and tall vegetation; slow taxiing is advised due to loose stones. Turbulence and high-voltage power lines may be present on final approach.

Fuel (Avgas) is available only via the flight school Nortavia, typically on weekdays from 9:00 to 18:00 LT, with prices around €4 per liter and cash payment required; receipts may not be available. Tie-downs are available at some parking spots. Facilities are minimal: no restaurant or bar, but there are WCs and a coffee/drinks vending machine; WiFi exists but access details may be unavailable.

Ground transport to Porto takes about 30 minutes by Uber or taxi, costing €20–30. Coordination for taxis can be assisted by on-site personnel. All persons must wear high-visibility vests on the airfield.
