Handling is mandatory for general aviation at this airport, even though this may not be specified in the AIP. Fees for GA operations are high, with multiple components including landing, parking, handling, terminal access, bus transfer, and additional charges such as equipment disinfection. Example: handling about €130; airport fee about €230; bus transfer about €50; executive building about €50 per person; equipment disinfection about €50. Example: all-inclusive fee for three nights about €410.

AVGAS is not available at this airport. There is no dedicated general aviation terminal or GAT; all GA passengers must use the main terminal and undergo standard airline-style security checks without distinction for private flights. Security procedures can be strict and time-consuming.

Customs and immigration are available on arrival. Landing at one of Portugal’s international airports is required when entering the country from abroad, even within Schengen.
