St. Georgen Am Ybbsfeld Airport (LOLG)

Small airfield with a short, asphalted runway situated close to forested, rising terrain, making approach and departure more demanding. The airfield can be hard to spot from circuit altitude; a familiarization overflight is advisable, especially due to the steeply rising ground to the west and possible wind shear on departure from runway 22. The correct radio frequency is 120.455. Example: landing fee about €10. Facilities include a small bathing pond adjacent to the field. The atmosphere is notably friendly and welcoming.
