Very good airport – I was honestly surprised, as I somehow remembered some rather negative comments. My experience was completely different.
I contacted handling in advance and explained what I needed. On arrival there was some activity, including airline traffic, but the handling agent still personally guided me to the fuel station, assisted with refuelling, helped with parking the aircraft on the Central Apron and arranged a taxi. The distances between apron and terminal were very short and everything was easy to manage.
Very friendly, helpful and uncomplicated throughout. I can definitely recommend Ostrava.
AVGAS was about €2.70/litre. Landing, handling and overnight parking together were €73, which I found more than fair.

IFR and VFR operations are available with ILS and RNP approaches in both directions. Handling is generally mandatory, with organized but sometimes complex procedures; clearance delivery is via Tower frequency, and there is no dedicated Ground frequency. ATC communication is clear and professional, and staff are friendly and helpful.
Fees for landing, handling, and short-term parking typically range from about €70 to €120. Example: landing plus one night about €120. Parking is around 500 CZK per day plus VAT. Handling for aircraft under 2 tons is quoted at 800 CZK plus VAT. Some reports mention higher total bills for longer stays.
AVGAS and Jet A1 are available; Avgas requires taxiing to the fuel station, sometimes with a follow-me car, and the fueling agent may be brought from a distance by the handling agent. The terminal offers vending machines for snacks and drinks, several car rental agencies (though some may have limited weekend hours), and taxis to the city are available with fares around CZK 900. Public transport options such as bus or train to Ostrava exist.
The airport has a large runway and good infrastructure but can be busy with holiday charter flights during the day. Facilities include a pilots’ room (accessible on request), though experiences vary regarding its convenience. Payment by credit card is possible in the restaurant.
Customs procedures are straightforward due to Schengen; entry is simple with a flight plan. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM. The airport is suitable for general aviation but may be perceived as expensive for short stays.
