Quick refueling stop in LKKV without leaving the airport on a Sunday in July. Approach via OKG routing (IFR with DA42, max 2000kg) very easy, although the Controller let me down only to 8000ft due to an active glider area below, but still early enough to catch the ILS. Refueling ordered by the very friendly handling agent and done within minutes by truck. Jet A1 @ 12/07/2026 for 49,80 CZK = 2,02€. Handling Fee 423,50 CZK (17,50 €), Landing Fee 726 CZK (30€), all values gross (VAT). I did not register upfront, just filed the plan and flew. Very nice and easy.

Flight from Germany to LKKV on a flight plan. Arrival via Whisky1 route (Whisky–Bravo). Lots of training traffic with C152s.
Parking stands are equipped with tie-down rings.
Picked up at the aircraft by an apron vehicle. Payment then in the building (landing fee calculated by rounding up to whole tons). For us, <1 t: 1040 cKr = €43 for landing and one night. Transfer into Karlsbad by UBER or BOLT, slightly cheaper than a taxi (about €10.50). Karlsbad was very busy due to the 60th film festival.
Aerodrome opens on Saturday from 0900 local. Access via the baggage security checkpoint, then shuttle back to the aircraft.
Departure via Whisky1 departure route, direct Whisky without Bravo. This deconflicts arriving and departing traffic. Good English on FIS and Tower.

We booked the "Fly & Visit" package via the airport’s website (https://www.airport-k-vary.cz/en/fly-and-visit/)
The package included landing & parking for 1 night (Piper PA28) plus taxi to town and back to the airport. Cost of the package: 102€.
I can HIGHLY recommend this airport!!

The airport sits on a plateau at 2000 ft AMSL, offering scenic approaches—especially into runway 11 over the town. The airport has free Wi-Fi in some areas but no on-site restaurant or café; several hotels in town are recommended for overnight stays.
Ground transport options include the included taxi service (about 15 minutes to city center) or public bus (infrequent). Taxis outside the package typically cost about €20 per trip.
Security procedures include full scans when departing; re-entry to airside may require passing through passenger security gates. Customs is always available for arrivals from EU/Schengen countries without PPR.
Overall, LKKV offers an efficient, welcoming experience for non-commercial GA pilots visiting Karlovy Vary or using the airport as a technical stop.
