Lesce/Bled Airport (LJBL)

LJBL offers a long, paved runway and is known for its friendly, welcoming staff. The airfield supports both glider and powered flight, with parachuting activity also present. The airfield is easy to find, located parallel to the motorway and close to the Lesce-Bled train station, which is 10–15 minutes on foot and offers good connections to Bled, Ljubljana, and Jesenice.

A highly regarded restaurant operates on the field with consistently praised food and service. Accommodation can be arranged nearby, sometimes with assistance from restaurant staff. Hangar space may be available in adverse weather with staff support. No Mogas is available; only Avgas is offered. Maintenance services are present via Aeroservice.

Transport to Bled by taxi typically costs about €20; pre-arrangement is advised as prices can vary. The 'Bled Shuttle' taxi service is available at +386 31 490 401. Bus service to Ljubljana takes about one hour for €6 (€2 on weekends), while a taxi costs about €90 one way.

Landing fees vary: Example: landing fee about €20. Parking overnight has been possible. Camping on the airfield is allowed.

Caution: expect busy traffic in good weather due to glider, parachute, and powered flight operations. Bird activity (notably cormorants) may be significant near the runway. Approaching from the north requires a steep descent into a valley basin; see AIP/NOTAM for details. Communication in English is generally good but may be less clear at times in the circuit.

Customs must be cleared at LJLJ or LJPZ before arrival or after departure if required for your route.
