Civil Airfield Padova (LIPU)

Padova airport is well suited for fuel stops and city visits, with friendly and helpful staff. Landing fees are moderate, with several examples showing about €20 for landing and €7 per passenger; parking is about €0.07 per ton per hour after the first two hours. Example: landing fee about €20. Avgas and JetA1 are available at the airfield fuel station, which is quick and uncomplicated; Avgas price examples range from €2.40 to €2.60 per liter. The airport is managed by Heron Air since 2022.

PPR is only required outside published opening hours. Landings are usually on runway 04 and departures on 22 when wind permits; the tower coordinates operations when staffed, otherwise AFIS or blind calls may be necessary, especially on Mondays or after 16:00 local time. The runway and apron are in good condition, though some taxiways may have minor surface imperfections.

A restaurant is located at the airport, but its opening times vary. The city center is easily accessible: taxis cost about €15 and take around 7–10 minutes; bus line 12 stops a few minutes’ walk from the airport with tickets available onboard for about €3; walking to the city takes 10–20 minutes depending on route. Bicycle hire in Padova requires an app that may not accept foreign numbers.

Customs clearance is not reliably available despite AIP listings; procedures vary—see AIP/NOTAM for current details. Padova offers a convenient base for visiting both the city and Venice by train, with frequent connections from the main station.
