Verona/Boscomantico Airport (LIPN)

Verona Boscomantico (LIPN) is a well-situated, GA-friendly airfield north of Verona, popular for city visits and access to Lake Garda. VFR and IFR arrivals are straightforward, with clear English on the radio. No slots or PPR are generally required for intra-EU flights, but flights to or from non-EU countries are prohibited; EU/international flights with non-EU registered aircraft require notification (Mon–Fri 3h prior, Sat/Sun by Fri 1300LT) via dogane.verona@adm.gov.it, dogane.verona.aeroporto@adm.gov.it, or operations@boscomanticoservizi.it. The field is closed on Mondays.

Landing and parking fees are moderate. Example: landing and overnight parking about €40; another example: landing and four hours parking about €30. Fees increase by weight in 1000 kg steps, with additional fire service charges. Parking is usually on grass; ground is firm even after rain, but stakes can be hard to drive due to rocks. Avgas 100LL is available on the north side (not always cheap), payment by credit card accepted; mogas may be available from the aeroclub on the south side but availability varies.

A well-regarded restaurant operates on site except Mondays. Taxis to Verona city center take 10–20 minutes and cost about €20–30 each way; staff can help arrange taxis. Accommodation options include B&B Dal Checco (1.5 km SW). Rental cars can be delivered to the airfield by local providers such as Verona Rent a Car.

The airfield is busy with parachuting activity, especially weekends; expect grass parking and possible delays due to parachute operations. The circuit should be flown below 2500 ft MSL and coordinated with Garda/Verona Approach as needed. Runway length is adequate for typical GA operations but density altitude should be considered in summer.

Maintenance support is available on site, including JAR 145 facilities. For customs/immigration related to EU/non-EU flights, advance notification is required as above; procedures vary—see AIP/NOTAM for details.
