Calcinate Del Pesce Airport (LILC)

LILC is a private airfield requiring prior permission, typically granted by the flight operations manager, Alberto Balducci (direttore@acao.it). Requests are best made in Italian, and communication on arrival is easier in Italian, though English may be possible. The airfield is primarily focused on gliding, with significant glider and tow activity, especially on weekends. Coordination with other traffic is essential as there is not always an active flight information service; landings are only permitted on the grass runway, while departures may be allowed from the asphalt strip by arrangement. Landings are made to the east and departures to the west. Guest parking is south of the grass runway.

The landing fee for visitors is about €20. Avgas may be available in limited quantities if requested in advance with PPR. The on-field restaurant offers good food and views over the airfield and lake. Taxis to Varese are available, and a hotel is located about one kilometer from the airfield. For overnight stays, arranging hangar space in advance is recommended for security reasons.
