Civil Airfield Fano (LIDF)

Grass runway with a length of approximately 1350 meters, generally in acceptable condition, with the touchdown area of runway 05 sometimes more earthy. Only air-to-air radio is available; coordinate directly with other aircraft and especially with the often-active parachute drop plane. The recommended circuit pattern is considered difficult to fly. The airport is uncontrolled and may be sporadically attended; advance notice by phone or email is advised, especially for fuel availability, as refueling (Avgas and Jet A1) is not always possible without prior arrangement. Administrative breaks occur from 12:30 to 15:00 local time.

Landing and fire service fees are typically combined, with examples ranging from about €20 to €45 for up to three days. Example: landing plus fire service about €45 for three days. A restaurant with good cuisine and reasonable prices operates in the rear of the main building, and a café/bar is also present. Accommodation options include Hotel Corallo, located directly at the beach and within walking distance (about 500–800 meters) of both the old town and harbor. The city of Fano offers a less touristy beach experience, with several recommended restaurants both on site and at the Lido.

The airfield atmosphere is relaxed and procedures are straightforward, but pilots should coordinate closely due to frequent paradropping activity and lack of ground radio service. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM for details.
